Frank Lee Funte, 79, of Riceville, died Thursday, September 27, 1990 at the Stacyville Nursing Home, of natural causes following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held on Monday morning, October 1, 1990 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Riceville, with Pastor A. Merseth officiating. Interment was at the Lutheran Cemetery, Riceville.

Frank Lee Funte was born on February 24, 1911 in Mitchell County, Iowa, to Edward and Mary (Brenneissen) Funte. He had been a lifetime resident of this area. He attended rural schools and was a graduate of Riceville High School in 1928.

On July 5, 1940, he married Ruth Utesch at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, and they were the parents of three children.

Frank farmed and also worked at Farmer's Feed and Grain. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Mueller of Floyd Knobs, Indiana; two sons, Edward of Davis City, Iowa, and Gary of Marengo, Iowa; a sister, Iola Swan of Loveland, Colorado; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and one brother, Earl.

Conway Funeral Home of Riceville was in charge of the arrangements.
