Funeral services were held Saturday, May 18, 1985, at Trinity Lutheran Church, for Randi Hvattum, 97, who died on Wednesday, May 15, at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Kit Belk officiated and burial was in Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery.

She was born on April 16, 1888 in Norway, the daughter of Halvor Schjervum and Bertha Lee. She came to this country in 1904 to live with an uncle. She and Thorston Hvattum were married January 9, 1908. They farmed west of Osage.

Mr. Hvattum preceded her in death in 1934.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Helga) MaGee of Mexico, Missouri; one son, Henry of Mason City; six granchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
