DIES ON DAY OF SISTER'S BURIAL

Stacyville, Iowa -- Funeral services to be held at Visitation church Saturday for William Wolf, 48, St. Paul, veteran of World War I, who died here Tuesday night at the home of his brother-in-law Robert Shotliff.

Mr. Wolf and his wife had come from St. Paul Monday night to attend the funeral of his sister, Mrs. Hattie Meyer, of Charles City. He had attended the rites that morning, including burial at Meyer.

Surviving are his wife and two sons, Eugene in the service, and Dick attending school at St. Paul. A stepson, Darrell Albertson Wolf, recently returned from the Pacific war theater.

Mr. Wolf married Esther Shotliff July 25, 1921. For several years they lived in Stacyville where he operated a meat market. Later they moved to St. Paul where he worked as a special meat cutter.

William J. Wolf was born August 7, 1887 in Stacyville, Mitchell, Iowa, the son of Peter Wolf and Margaretha (Seibert) Wolf. He married Esther Shotliff, the daughter of Joseph Shotliff and Rose Belle (Penney) Shotliff.

He was buried in the Visitation cemetery, Stacyville, Iowa

WILLIAM WOLF

William Wolf of St. Paul, Minnesota, died at the home of his brother-in-law, Robert Shotliff, in Stacyville, Iowa, Tuesday, October 23, 1945, from a heart attack. He had come with his wife to Stacyville Monday to attend the funeral services for his sister, Mrs. Hattie Mayer, of Charles City, and had attended the burial services at Meyer in the morning.

He was married to Esther Shotliff on July 25, 1921, at Stacyville, and for several years they lived in Stacyville where he operated a meat market. Later they moved to St. Paul where he worked as an expert meat cutter.

Surviving are his wife, Esther, two sons, Eugene at Camp Allen, Nevada; and Dickey, at school in St. Paul; a stepson, Darrell Albertson Wolf, recently returned from the Pacific Theater of war, who with his wife of North Dakota, arrived Wednesday evening to attend the funeral; a brother, J. N. Wolf; and a sister, Mrs. Frances Thome of St. Paul.

Funeral services were Saturday morning at Visitation church in Stacyville, under the direction of the Hale Fuller Penney Post of the American Legion. Mr. Wolf was a veteran of World War I and a member of the veterans of Foreign Wars of St. Paul.
