Funeral services were held on Friday, September 13, 1985, at Mona Lutheran Church, for Raymond Theodore Carlson, 87, of Lyle. The Rev. Grant officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Mona.

He died on Tuesday, September 10, 1985, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.

Raymond was born on June 30, 1898, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Carlson in Otranto Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, at the farm home one mile south of Mona. He resided at this farm until he retired from farming in 1967 and moved to Lyle.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Mona Lutheran Church, served on various church boards and was a lifelong member.

He married Verdie Klusmeier on October 8, 1930.

His parents, five brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Verdie; two nephews, harlis and Noris Anderson; one niece, Mavis (Mrs. Wayne) Hanson; and one sister-in-law, Eva Carlson.
