A SAD DEATH
Frank Melbourne Cheney was born March 3, 1882, and died on November 3, 1898. The death of this promising young man was peculiarly sad.
The blow fell heavily not only upon the parents and a wide circle of friends, but upon the community generally. He was in the full strength of early manhood, strong and vigourous, and until three weeks ago full of promise for long life and usefullness. He was able to do a man's work on the farm and when disease first made its appearence no one had any thought but that it could be easily thrown off. It proved to be a most malignant attack of the typhoid fever and baffled the skill of the physians to stop its progress.
Frank died on Thursday and the funeral service was held on Saturday afternoon under the direction of Rev. W. W. Gist. The attendance was very large and the sympathy of the entire community was deeply stirred. Frank was very popular with his associates and the young people of the community felt his loss very keenly.
He was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Cheney of Stillwater and he was a true and manly boy with great promise for the future. The parents have the sympathy of the entire community in their sore affliction.
