Mrs. Sarah Landin Worseldine

Mrs. Sarah Landin Worseldine was born in Lincolnshire, England, January 9, 1838, passed away March 10, 1904, at her home in Orchard, Iowa.

The funeral was held in the home March 12, 1904, Rev. S.A. Martin preaching from Ps. 23:1. "The Lord Is my Shepard." The interment took place in the Orchard cemetery.

John B. Worseldine and Miss Sarah Landin were united in marriage in 1846. This union was blessed with eleven children, six of whom are still living: Geo.H. Worseldine and Mrs. O.H. Evans of Orchard, Mrs. J. S. Large of Bay City, Texas, Mrs. A.E. Knapp of Little Cedar, Mrs. W. H. Bartett of Park Rapids, Mich., and E. B. Worseldine of Idaho. There are eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Worseldine came to America in 1854, therefore, Mrs. Worseldine may righfully be considered on of the old settlers. Mrs. Worseldine was a follower of the lowly Nazarene and was one of the charter members of the Orchard Congregational church. None rejoiced in the success of the new church enterprise more than she. But on account of ill health she was never premitted to enter it. The church suffers an irreparable loss in the death of Sister Worseldine. But our loss is her gain.
