MRS. W. J. ARMSTRONG OF CHESTER, DIES AT 76
Hazel Edna Armstrong, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Markham, was born at Riceville Iowa on October 13, 1892.She was united in marriage to William J. Armstrong on January 24, 1932. They made their home on a farm in Howard County, Iowa until 1939 when they moved to Chester, Iowa.
One son and two daughters were born to this marriage; Darrel of Austin, Minn.; Nola (Mrs. Harry Ness) of St. Paul, Minn.; and Kathleen (Mrs. George Johnson) of Chester, Iowa.
Mrs. Armstrong was a member of the United Methodist Church of Chester.
She passed away at her home early Sunday morning October 27, 1968.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, three children, six grandchildren; William G. Armstrong, Jeanne Majerus; Karen Reed; Jane Johnson and Carlton Ness; four great grandchildren, a sister Mrs. Fred Dawson of Parkers Prairie, Minn., and a brother Earl Markham of Minneapolis.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 29, 1968 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Chester with Rev. C. J. Bishop officiating. Mrs. Bill Jensen was the organist, with Miss Benita Davis the soloist.
Interment was in the Chester Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Dr. John R. Jones, Robert Miles, Richard Koliha, Lee Sister, Peter Quale and Robert Cady. The Martin-?? Funeral home in LeRoy was in charge of arrangements.
