Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 1972 in the Immaculate Conception Church in Riceville for Miss Mary Francis Burke, 87, who passed away on Sunday, January 9 at the Riceville Municipal Rest Home. The Reverend J.W. Bohr officiated at the Requiuem Mass.

Miss Burke was born in Mitchell county on March 31, 1884, the daughter of John and Catherine Burke, She had been a bookkeeper for a number of years.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Florence White, Spencer, Iowa and several nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

A rosary was recited on Tuesday evening, January 11th at 7:45 p.m.

Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery in Riceville with Chisholm Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
