RICEVLLE, IOWA - Miss Genevieve Burke, 69, died Thursday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage, Mitchell county, Iowa.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church here Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Rosary will be at 8 p.m Friday at the Chisholm Funeral Home.

Genevieve Margaret Burke was born October 26, 1896 to Edmond and Kathryn Connor Burke at Riceville, Iowa. She graduated from Riceville High School in 1915.

She clerked in the late John Servoss store and assisted at home in the hotel of her parents until two years ago when it was sold

A Requiem High Mass offered by the Reverend Father Joseph W. Bohr in the Immaculate Catholic Church on Saturday morning, December 11. Miss Burke passed away Thursday afternoon, December 9 soon after being admitted to the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage.

She is survived by three sisters; Miss Mary Burke, Riceville; Mrs Kathryn Dennis, Phoenix, Arizona and Mrs. Florence White, Spencer, Iowa, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Norbert Burke, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Raymond and Norbert Burke.

Casket Bearers included Edward Burke, Richard Burke, Wyman Steffen, Loyd Richmond, Francis Stier and Robert Burke. Mr J.B. Hendricks was usher.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Riceville with Chisholm Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Born on October 26, 1896, at Riceville, she was the daughter of John and Catherine Burke. She and her sister operated the Burke Hotel here for many years.

Surviving are three sisters: Miss Mary Burke, Riceville; Mrs. Catherine Dennis, Phoenix Arizona; and Mrs. Florence White Spencer.

Two brothers, Raymond and Norbert preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church here Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Rosary will be at 8 p.m Friday at the Chisholm Funeral Home.
