Funeral Services in
Osage, Saturday for
Mrs. David Parr, 61

Funeral services were held Saturday for Mrs. David Parr, 61, of Riceville, who died last Tuesday at Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage, where she was brought several days earlier following a cornary attack.

The Rev. Percy Bruns, pastor of the Riceville Baptist church was in charge of the services at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage. Burial was in the Wayne cemetery in McIntire.

Ada Lavina Griffin was born July 10, 1894, near Bailey, the daughter of Mr. and Mr. Charles Griffin. She remained in the same community until her marriage December 19, 1913, to David Parr. They later lived at Ottumwa, Waterloo, and six years in Hayward, California. They returned to the Osage and Riceville communities in 1948.

Mrs. Parr had been a member of the Baptist church since childhood, and was baptized at the church in McIntire.

Survivors include her husband, David, her mother, Mrs. Elsie Griffin, three children, Charles, Mrs. C. D. Rice and Douglas, all of Osage, three grandchildren, four brothers, Orville Griffin, of Weiger, Idaho, Gilbert of Princeton, Minnesota, Elmo of McIntire and Lee of Glasgow, Montana; three sisters, Mrs. Clifford Combs of Glasgow and Mrs. Grant Hill and Mrs. Fred Hill of Riceville, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Her father, a brother, Stanley and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Sloan preceded her in death.
