Funeral services for former Osage resident Mary Ellen Bradwell, 99, of Fort Dodge were Friday, January 25, 1985, at Champion Funeral Home in Osage. She died Tuesday, January 22 at a Fort Dodge nursing home.

Funeral services for former Osage resident, Mary Ellen Bradwell, 99, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, were held on Friday, January 25, 1985, at Champion Funeral Home in Osage. She died on Monday, January 21, 1985, at a Fort Dodge nursing home.

The Rev. James Pittman of the Osage United Methodist Church officiated and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.

Mary Ellen Bradwell was born on January 13, 1886, in Tibshelf, England. She moved to Iowa with her parents as a child and graduated from Pocahontas High School. On March 9, 1910, she married Albert Bradwell at Rippey. They moved to Worth county, Iowa in 1913, where they farmed until 1942.

The couple then moved south of Osage where they farmed until their retirement in 1954. They lived in Osage until 1963 when they moved to Fort Dodge.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. T.A. (Dorothy) Campbell of Waterloo, Iowa, and Mrs. Howard (Sally) Vitteteaux of St. Petersburg, Florida; three nephews, Robert Simpson of Austin, Minnesota, Donald Simpson of Carlton, Washington, and Gordon Simpson of Osage; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ann Wright Simpson; one sister, Katie; one brother, Stanley, who died in England; two sons, James and Joe Jr.; two sisters, Edna and Francis; husband, Albert; a daughter, Edna Woodiwiss and one great-grandson.

Mary Bradwell to Note Anniversary

A former Osage resident, Mrs. Albert Bradwell (Mary), now living at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge, will be celebrating her 95th birthday on Tuesday, January 13, 1981.

It is hopes that her friends and acquaintances from Mitchell County will remember her with cards or notes. Mrs. Bradwell is said to be in reasonably good health, although she must have help in walking. She no longer writes, so would be unable to respond, but she still enjoys getting mail. A card shower would be most appreciated.

Her address is Friendship Haven Health Center, Fort Dodge, Iowa 50501.
