Lila Ann Stevens was born October 29, 1906, at Clarion, the daughter of Wesley and Charlotte Rumford Hardy. She attended Clarion schools and graduated from Clarion High School with a normal training certificate. She taught for several years at Grant No. 8 School in rural Clarion.
On Nov. 29, 1929, she married Leslie Lawrence Stevens and they lived on the same farm together until his death in 1997. Lila continued to live on the farm until August of 1999, when she moved to Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Lila was a lifelong member of United Presbyterian Church in Clarion where she taught Sunday school for over 40 years. Her greatest joy was to have former students remember her with cards, letters or just to greet her on the street. Lila enjoyed her flowers, home, and visiting with many friends and relatives.
Lila is survived by one sister, Etta Dahlgren of Pensacola, Fla., and one brother, Irwin Hardy, and sister-in-law, Nelda Hardy, both of Osage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie; sister, Ina Harding; and brothers, Kenneth and Hurvy.
Lila will be especially missed by her brother and wife, her sister and many nieces and nephews, as well as her church family, and residents and staff of Faith Lutheran Home.
