MRS. L. JONES DIES AT OSAGE
FUNERAL SERVICES FOR
FORMER CLEAR LAKE RESIDENT
TO BE HELD SATURDAYOSAGE, IOWA – Mrs. Laura M. Jones, 54, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. O. Eiel, Wednesday evening following an illness of about a week.
Mrs. Jones had formerly resided at Clear Lake, but had moved to Osage about two years ago, following the death of her husband.
She had made her home with her daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Eiel, having moved to Osage from Madison, Wisconsin.
She is survived by her daughter and granddaughter, Jean Eiel.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the Champion Funeral Home at Osage. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery.

Note: from the 1910 thru 1930 Census she is listed as Laura Jones with no husband living with her. In the 1925 Iowa Census Laura is listed with no fathers name and a mothers name of For Winter. Her daughter Margaret is still living with her in this census and only list a mother.

HOME OF DAUGHTER
WEDNESDAY NIGHTMrs. Laura M. Jones, who had been a resident of osage since moving here with her daughter and family, the Dr. M.O. Eiels, died at the latter's home Wednesday evening. Mrs. Jones had been in poor health for some time, but her condition did not become serious until a few days ago.
Mrs. Jones and her family were residents of Clear Lake for many years, but since the death of her husband she had lived with her daughter, the only child. They were located at Madison, Wisconsin, before coming here.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Champion Funeral Home and burial made in the Osage cemetery.

Laura Miles Stickney was born in Big Rapids, Michigan, on March 2, 1881. She died in Osage, Iowa, on September 2, 1936, at about 7 o'clock, after a three-weeks' illness.
She was the only child of Wilson Stickney and Laura Miles-Stickney. He early life was spent at the place of her birth and at Rathbone, New York. She attended Cornell University at Ithaca, New York, being among the first women to be admitted to that institution. She then taught school at New Castle, Delaware.
In February, 1905, she was married to George B. Jones, and one daughter, Margaret, was born to them. Four years later, on her husband's death, she came to Clear lake, Iowa, which became her home for seventeen years. While living there, she was amember of the Congregational Church, taking an active part in its various organizations. She was also a charter member of the D.A.R. chapter at Clear Lake.
For the past seven years she has made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Merrill Eiel, who lived in Madison, Wis. until a year ago when they moved to Osage, Iowa.
Surviving are her daughter and one granddaughter, Jean Eiel.
Funeral services were held at the Champion Funeral Home on Saturday, September 5, conducted by the Rev. Stiles Lessley, pastor of the Congregational church, and burial was made in the Osage Cemetery.
