PARENTS HEAR SOLDIER SON DIES IN ITALY

Stacyville – Mr. and Mrs. John Hackenmiller of Meyer received a telegram Saturday stating that their son, Sgt. Leo Hackenmiller, 24, had died in Italy, November 6th.

He had been in service since May, 1941, was overseas over a year and received decorations for service beyond duty in action in Tunisia and the invasion of Sielly. He was still with the fighting forces in Italy.

He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hackenmiller; 1 brother, Alfred, and 1 sister, Catherine at home.
