TO AMPUTATE ARM

Osage – Mrs. Kate Miniger, 77, who has been residing at the home of Mrs. Charles Cockrum for the past 14 months, after incurring a hip fracture, was taken to the Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa, Monday.

Mrs. Miniger, although in a weakened condition, will undergo the amputation of her left arm, to stop the spreading of a gangrenous infection which has localized in the arm.

Kate C (Hopkins) Miniger was born October 1870 in Minnesota, the daughter of William Hopkins and Helen (Upham) Hopkins (parents from 1925 Iowa Census). She married Herman Miniger the son of Frank Miniger and Sarah (Haight) Miniger.
