Sigmund O. 'Sig' Myhre, 87

ROCKFORD -- Sigmund O. "Sig" Myhre, 87, of Rockford died from a sudden illness at 5:10 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2004, in Rockford Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 4, 1917, in Osage, Iowa, the son of the Rev. O. Carl and Clara Marie Hanson Myhre.

Sigmund married Nancy O'Brien July 1, 1950. He was an indoor salesman, selling machine parts for several years. Lifetime member of the Harmony SS Club, and loved to play scratch-off lottery tickets.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; daughter, Martha Myhre and her husband, Winston; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceased by parents; and brothers, Valgard, Hilding and Paul.

Prayer service will be at recited at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Interment will be private. Please make memorials to the family for a fund to be established at a later date.
