ALFRED HAVIG DIES AT 81; RITES AT OSAGE

Osage – Alfred Havig, 81, died Monday at a Mason City hospital where he had been a patient a month. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church. The Rev. Obert Hoven and the Rev. Walter Gigstad will officiate. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery with Champion Funeral Home in charge.

Born in April 1880 at St. Ansgar, he was the son of O. F. and Bertha Havig. He worked as a carpenter there and in Bellingham, Washington, and South Dakota.

He was married in April 1916, to Elsie Christianson. They had lived in Osage since their marriage.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters; Miss Mary Louise Havig, Tacoma, Washington; Mrs. G. W. (Ruth) Paulson, Omaha; two sons; Dean, Tacoma; Forrest, Mason City; a brother, Chester, Hampton; three sisters; Mrs. Alice Shoger; Mrs. Olga Thorson; and Miss Josephine Havig; all of Osage and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
