George Henry Lewis 1836-1907

Lewis – On Friday, May 1, 1907 at 7:24 o’clock a.m. from liver trouble. George Lewis of this city, aged seventy-one years and five days.

The deceased was born in Lincolnshire, England, and serviced five years in the British Army. He emigrated to the United States about forty-five years ago and settled at Osage, Iowa, where he lived until about eight months ago when with his wife he came to this city.

He had two sons, J. H. Lewis, of this city and George M. Lewis of Sisseton.
His wife’s maiden name was Betsy L. Rolfe.
The remains of the deceased were taken to Osage, Iowa, accompanied by the wife and two sons and the funeral took place on Saturday afternoon.
