Michael P. Moore

Mass of the Resurrection was offered for Michael P. Moore at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 9, 1984, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Father Mark Moore, brother of the deceased, was Celebrant with Father Jacob Roth and Father John Gregory concelebrating. Interment was at Sacred Heart Cemetery with graveside services conducted by American Legion Post No. 278

Mr. Moore, a life long resident, engaged in farming was born March 21, 1920, in Mitchell County, the son of John and Grace Weber Moore.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific, receiving the Purple Heart.

Mike Moore and Shirley Buttolph were united in marriage February 15, 1950.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Moore, a brother John and a sister, Kathryn.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three sons, Mark of Osage, Kevin of Mason City and Brian of Keosauqua; one daughter, Mrs. Stephan (Shawna) Ferguson of Carrolltown, Texas; his father, John Moore of Osage; two brothers, Father Mark Moore of Dubuque, Richard Moore of Monticello and one sister, Mary Alice Sullivan of Baltimore, Maryland.
