OSAGE, IOWA - Kathleen W. Bollinger, 75, of Osage, died Monday, April 4, 2011, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center Emergency Room in Osage, Mitchell county, Iowa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 8, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be at Osage Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a scripture wake service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Mitchell County Memorial Foundation.
Kay was born April 10, 1935, in Morris, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of Frederick and Melita (Rossnagel) Mazolleck. Kay was united in marriage to Bill Bollinger on May 11, 1957, in Winnipeg, Canada. They moved to Osage in December 1961. Kay was a stay at home mom until all her children were school age. She was employed at Super Valu and then Fox River Mills, retiring in 1998. Kay enjoyed making holiday decorations, knitting, sewing, gardening, watching and feeding birds, and caring for her pets. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Kay especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Bollinger, Osage; three daughters, Deb (Glen) Preston of Bancroft, Sandi (Dwayne) Anderson of Riceville, Karen (Scott) Slagle of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Bill (Jan) Bollinger of Montclair, N.J.; 10 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys (Jarring) Timmerman of Winnipeg, Canada, and Joyce (Clifford) Savage of Wingdale, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Renn and Alan Mazolleck.
