Once Resident at
Gilbertville, Dies

GILBERTVILLE, IOWA — Mrs. Eugene Bloes, native of Fox Township, near here, died suddenly at her home in Osage as result of asthma and heart complications.

She was born on October 1, 1868, on the family homestead In Fox Township, which is now being operated by her brother, John Nie.

Her marriage took place at Immaculate Conception church about 38 years ago.

Surviving are her husband, a son and two daughters; John Bloes, Gilbertville, Margaret Bloes, Osage, and Mrs. William Fahey, Mason City, two brothers and five sisters: John, Matt and Kate Nie, Mrs. Frank Franta, Gilbertville; Mrs. J. P. Federspiel, Waterloo; Mrs. Nick Bloes, Ashton, Iowa, and Mrs. W. J. Schmitz, Los Angeles, California.

Mr. and Mrs. Franta left Saturday for Osage.

Services will be in Sacred Heart church.

AT OSAGE FUNERAL

GILBERTVILLE, IOWA — A large delegation of Gilbertville residents went to Osage for the funeral Monday morning of Mrs. Eugene Bloes, former resident here. The group included: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Franta and son, John; Mr. and Mrs. John Bloes and daughter Catherine; John Nie and son, Lawrence; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Nie and family; Joe Pint, Frank Delagardelle, Mary Weber, Ted Weber, John Bornong, Mrs. Matt Ahles, Mrs. Jake Schmit, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Federspiel, Joe and Lawrence Federspiel, Waterloo, also went.

Mrs. Bloes is survived by her husband, a son and two daughters: John Bloes, Gilbertville; Margaret Bloes, Osage, and Mrs. Magdalene Fahey, Mason City; by three brothers and four sisters: John, Matt and Ted Nie, Mrs. Frank [Maggie]Franta, all of Gilbertville; Mrs. J. P. [Mary] Federspiel, Waterloo; Mrs. Nick [Sue] Bloes, Ashton, Iowa, and Mrs. W. J. [Lena] Schmitz, Los Angeles, California.
