Funeral services for Peter M. Larson, 82, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage Wednesday, October 19, were held Friday, October 21 at the First Lutheran Parish center with the Rev. Don R. Hamilton officiating.
Peter M. Larson was born in the town of Lindelse, Island of Langeland, Denmark February 5, 1878. He was baptized in Denmark by the Rev. Bertelsen. At an early age he came with his parents, Peter and Christina Larson to the United States and settled on a farm in Worth County, southwest of Carpenter.
Mr. Larson attended school in Barton Township and helped his parents on the farm. He was confirmed at the Deer Creek Lutheran church by the Rev. J. Olsen July 14, 1894. He became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1892 at Northwood.
When his parents died, Peter and his sister, Annie, continued to live on the farm in Barton township until 1939 when he purchased a home in St. Ansgar where has since made his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles. He is survived by his sister, Annie Stengard of Austin, Minnesota, two nieces, Gladys Lovely of Columbus, Ohio and Mrs. Henry Arnold of Appleton, Minnesota; also two nephews, Leslie Larson of Halloway, Minnesota and Clifford Larson of Denver, Colorado.
Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with the Rev. Hamilton in charge of the committal services,
