major surgeryOSAGE, IOWA — Mrs. May Dillon, 83, died Saturday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. She had fractured a hip in a fall Christmas Day. She failed to recover from major surgery. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Baptist Church. Burial will be in Wayne Cemetery with Champion Funeral Home in charge.
Born May Smith, January 3, 1877, at Carpenter, Iowa, she was married to Barney Dillon and lived in and near Mclntire all her life. For the last three years she had lived at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Charles Parr, Osage.
Surviving are two sons, Norbert and Earl, both of Mclntire; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Farrell, Alta Vista; Mrs. Mike Hastings, McIntire; six grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Hattie Paul, McIntire.
