NOVA SEVERSON

Riceville – Mrs. Willard (Nova) Severson, 41, died of a heart attack Sunday. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in McIntire. Burial will be in Wayne Cemetery, McIntire, with Chisholm Funeral Home, Riceville, in charge.

Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Linda and Joan Tibbits, McIntire; two sons, Dennis Tibbits, McIntire, and James Tibbits, at home; a half-brother Jerry Griffin, Minneapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and a daughter.

Nova Vandewalker was born December 12, 1922 in Mitchell Co., Iowa, the daughter of Millard and Lela (Gilman) Vandewalker. She first married Harvey Eugene Tibbits who was born March 19, 1898 in Mitchell Co., Iowa and died June 23, 1957 In Mitchell Co. He was the son of John and Ellen (Clark) Tibbits.

Nova’s second husband was Willard Albert Severson, the son of Edward and Emma (Dammen) Severson. He was born August 23, 1908 and died October 1971.

The daughter mentioned in the obit that died was Sue Ann Severson born and died 1960.
