DEATH AT ST. ANSGAR.

St. Ansgar, Iowa, July 24 — Mrs. Bertha Knutson died Monday [July 22, 1929] at her home here. She was 70 year old and had been in failing health several months. Two sons and daughters survive.

Mrs. Bertha Nelson Knutson was born in Freeborn County, Minnesota, on January 16, 1860, and moved to Mower County, Minnesota, with her parents, when a small child. She was baptized and confirmed in the Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church.

September 20, 1884, she was united in marriage with Henry Knutson, by the Rev. Strand and moved to Mitchell County, Iowa, where she and her husband made their home on the old Knutson farm near St. Ansgar, until the time of Mr. Knutson's death on March 20, 1918.

To this union was born four children; Sophia, now Mrs. J.A. Robertson, of Minneapolis; Otto, Nellie and John of St. Ansgar.

Shortly after the death of her husband, Mrs. Knutson moved to St. Ansgar, where she lived until her death on July 22, 1929. She attained the age of 69 years, 6 months and 6 days.

She had an operation two years ago and since that has gradually failed in health. She was very patient in her suffering.

Mrs. Knutson is survived by her children; Mrs. J.A. Robertson of Minneapolis; Otto, Nellie and John of St. Ansgar; ten grandchildren; one brother, Seaver Nelson of St. Ansgar, and one sister, Mrs. L.A. Larson of Chicago.

Funeral services were held last Thursday at 1:30 at the home and at 2:00 at the First Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. Olaf A. Langehough. The body was laid to rest in the Evergreen cemetery.
