Former Stacyville Man
Dies at Waterloo Home

STACYVILLE, IOWA — Lieu May, 49, a former Stacyville resident, died at his home in Waterloo, Iowa Sunday night after a few hours' illness.

Surviving are his wife, a stepdaughter, Gloria: two daughters Mrs. John McGraw and Mrs Harold Styles of Minneapolis: two sons in the navy, Frederich at Corpus Christi, Texas, and Melvin somewhere in the Pacific; one sister, Mrs. Tony Hemann, Stacyville; one brother John of Mounds, Minnesota, and four grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending word from the two sons.

MAN DIES, WATERLOO

Lieu May, 49, former Stacyville man, passed away suddenly last week at his home in Waterloo, Iowa.

Mr. May was for a number of years buttermaker at the Stacyville creamery and later operated a produce business at stacyville. He has a sister, Mrs. Anton Hemann, living at Stacyville.

Mr. May was married twice; his first wife was Bertha Krebsbach of Stacyville, who died five years ago. Four children were born to this union. They are Mrs. John McGraw and Mrs. Harold Stiles of Minneapolis; and two sons, both of who are in the navy -- Frederick, at Corpus Christi, Texas, and Melvin, some where on Pacific. A daughter, Gloria, born of his second marriage, and the widow, survive.

Mr. May had many friends and he was respected by all who knew him. Burial was at Waterloo.

NOTES:

1. Louis Anton May born October 28, 1893, the son of Nicholas May and Josephine (Isaac) May. His first wife was Bertha Eva Krebsbach, the daughter of Mathias Krebsbach and Mary (Hemann) Krebsbach. Bertha died in July 1938.

2. Note -- The Hemann name is also known as Huemann.

3. 2nd wife is unknown.

4. He was buried in the Fairview Cemetery, Black Hawk, Iowa --
