Dale E. Goodale, age 72, of Osage, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 5:30 p.m.
Dale was born October 14, 1938, at Colwell, Iowa, the son of Burl and Lillian (Wagner) Goodale. He attended country school and graduated from high school in New Haven. Dale was united in marriage to Gertie Orvedal on January 6, 1968, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Haven. They made their home in Brownsville, where Dale farmed and raised dogs. Dale loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and extended family.
Dale is survived by his wife, Gertie Goodale of Osage; five children, Daisy Huffman (friend, Scott Bell) of Garner, and children, Josh and Aleesa Huffman, Kenny and Allison Bell; Dale (Jill) Goodale of Osage, and children, Destinee and Tyler Goodale; Dawn (Mike) Adams of Osage, and children, Trisha and Nathen Adams; Dana (Earl) Kiefer of Marble Rock, and children, Nicole and Noah Kiefer; David (Tami) Goodale of Osage, and children, Chloe and Justin Goodale; five brothers and sisters, Kenneth Goodale of Osage, Viola (Matt “Junior”) Klassen of Adams, Minnesota, Arlene (Curt) Fox of Elma, Dean (Joan) Goodale of Plymouth, Irene (Chuck) Johnson of Cedar Rapids; two sisters-in-law, Veronica Goodale of Manly, Marlene Goodale of Little Cedar; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill and Vernon Goodale; a nephew, Bob Goodale; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Goodale.
