Is Interred Saturday

Funeral services were held at the Sacred Heart church at 9 a.m. Saturday for Mrs. John McSweeney, 91. The Rev. Thomas Conroy officated and burial was in the Osage Catholic cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jim Gunsallus, Pete Michels, John Ulevig, George Donner, Will Young and Frank Jacobs. The latter three were also pallbearers for Mr. McSweeney eight years ago.

Mrs. McSweeney died last Thursday at the Wass Nursing home in Mason City. She had been ill for two years.

Born June 23, 1863 at Waterwtown, Wisconsin, to Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Morrisey, Mrs. McSweeney came to this vicinity by ox team and wagon with her family at the age of three. She received her schooling in the rural schools near here.

A life-long member of the Catholic church she married John McSweeney in September, 1885. To this union two children, John Jr. and Stewart, were born.

The couple resided on a farm seven miles northeast of Osage until Mr. McSweeney retired and moved into their home on Mechanic in Osage.

Mrs. McSweeney was preceded in death by her husband who died July 2, 1946. Ten brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.

Besides her two sons, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. William Titus of Van Nuys, Calif.; a brother, Tom of Osage; seven grandchildren, and 14 geat grandchildren.

She was the daughter of Dennis Morrissey and Mary Curtin Morrissey.
