August Ferdinand Jordan was born October 14, 1861, in Germany. In the year 1884 the family immigrated to America and settled in Mitchell county. December 27, 1892, he was united in marriage to Eva Gutmann. To this union were born nine children, one dying in early infancy. His wife preceded him in death passing away in 1913.
On September 29, 1928 he passed away at the Lutheran Hospital at Hampton. He leaves to mourn, four sons, Ferdinand, August, George and William, also four daughters, Mrs. Otto Bublitz of Grafton, Mrs. Rudolph Pahl and Mrs. Herman Krueger of Kensett, and Laura at home. Also one sister, Mrs. Mary Breuck of Sedgewick, South Dakota.
The funeral was held at the First Lutheran church, October 2, 1928 at two o'clock, the Rev. Olaf A. Langehough officiating. He was laid to rest in the St. Ansgar cemetery.
