FUNERAL HELD AT
ST. PETER LUTHERAN

Fred John Schulze, son of George and Elizabeth Decker Schulze, was born on May 17, 1892 in Adams Township, Mower County, Minnesota.

He was baptized and confirmed by the Rev. G. Landgrebe of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Toeterville.

He attended public school in Adams township near Rose Creek, Minnesota. When a young man he moved with his parents to a farm near Toeterville and resided in that area the rest of his life. He entered the Armed Forces February 2, 1918 and left for overseas duty in July that same year. He served with the Casualty Detachment 538, 163rd Demolition Battalion, arriving back in the U.S., May 12, 1919. He received his honorary discharge at Camp Dodge, Iowa, May 24, 1919.

He was engaged in farming most of his life with the exception of a few years when he was employed for the Toeterville Lumber Company.

Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Westrem of Toeterville and Mrs. Clarence (Rena) Ruehlow of Mason City; three brothers, Ed of Stacyville, Erwin of Toeterville and Lloyd of Pipestone, Minn. and six nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers who died in infancy.

He was a member of the Walter E. Enneberg American Legion Post 358 at St. Ansgar.

Honorary pallbearers were Arthur Kruger, Kenneth Zuehl, Rufus Priem, Ervin Dieterich, Art Bisbee and Norris Anderson.

Casket bearers were Howard Belz, Melvin Gerbig, William Bowers, Darwin Fossey, Frederick Bruggeman and Arleigh Geffert.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 8 at St. Peter Lutheran church in Toeterville, with the Rev. Wm. Kamke officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery at Toeterville.
