FUNERAL SATURDAY
FOR OSAGE RESIDENT,
WILLIAM ROBERTSON

Funeral services for William Robertson, 75, well-known Osage man, were held Saturday afternoon at the Champion Funeral Home. Mr. Robertson had been in poor health for more than two years. He died Wednesday afternoon at the home of his son, Gene Robertson in Charles City. (Feb. 3, 1966)

The Rev. Wesley Anderson pastor of the Baptist church, was in charge of the services.
Burial was in Charles City. Arrangements were by C.R. Champion and Sons.

William Daniel Robertson was born on October 3, 1890, on a farm north of Osage, the son of John and Katherine Sheehan Robertson. He attended the Osage elementary schools and high schools in Prairie du Chein, Wisconsin.

His mother died when he was two years old, he was reared by an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Johnson.

His marriage to Vera E. Coon took place on January 2, 1914, in Nora Springs. They lived in Mitchell until 1937, then moved to Osage. He worked with a construction crew for many years, and until his retirement about three years ago was a custodian at the Watts theater.

Surviving are his wife, Vera of Osage, four children, Gene of Charles City, Katherine, Mrs. Rudy Gutman of Austin; Ann, Mrs. Donald E. Atchley of Lompoc, Calif., Mrs. Ruth Trash of Austin, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Robertson of Anoka, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
