John Beecher was married to Elizabeth Callaghan Beecher and they lived on the family farm just north of Mitchell. They lived for 4 1/2 years in New York before heading west with the old pioneers in 1855. They lived on their Mitchell Farm from 1855 till 1902.

They were the parents of two sons and three daughters. And to three children that died in infancy before coming to Mitchell.

NOTES:

The names of their children were not recorded, but for two, a daughter named Julia (buried in Oak Grove) and another daughter referred to only as Mrs. Frank Bohach, of St. Ansgar.
