FUNERAL IS HELD FOR FORMER OSAGE GROCER

Osage , July 23. – A Masonic funeral service at the Champion funeral home was held Sunday afternoon in charge of the Rev. J. D. Kern, for George Porter, long- time resident of Osage, whose body was brought here from Oelwein.

Mr. Porter was at one time a proprietor of a grocery store here, and for many ears traveled out of Osage.

His wife, Georgia Samson Porter, member of a prominent early family here, preceded him in death several years since.
