LARS BERGE, 64, SUCCUMBS
OSAGE, IOWA — Lars P. Berge, 64, died at his home Saturday night after a three week illness.
He was born in Norway and came to Mitchell county in 1894.
He is survived by his widow and three children: Mrs. Everett Martin. Pervin and Oscar.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, in charge of the Rev. O. C. Myhre.
Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery.

#3:Lars P. Berge, a resident of Mitchell County for forty-six years, died at his home on Easter Sunday, March 24, 1940. Mr. Berge, son of Paul and Anna Berge, was born at Ulvik, Hardanger, Norway on March 11, 1876. In June 1894, he came with his mother, two brothers and two sisters to America and located temporarily at the home of Magnus Sponheim.
On August 22, 1906 he entered into holy matrimony with Tilda Hegg of this community. Immediately after their marriage, they located on his farm in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, IA, where he continued to live until his death.
In this wedlock three children were born: Pervin, Oscar and Mrs. Everett (Stella) Martin, all of this community. His wife and children survive him. Other survivors include one brother, Paul Berge of Rawson, ND and one sister, Mrs. Anna Paulson of Cartwright, ND as well as five grandchildren.
Mr. Berge was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church of his native country, and since coming to this community has always been an active member of the Rock Creek Lutheran Church. The departed brother had been in failing health the last six years.
Funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. O.C. Myhre on March 27, 1940 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church and interment was in the church cemetery.
