[NOTE:STENGRIM Hansen was born December 3rd 1839 in Gol, Buskerud county, Norway. Parents: Hans Olsen and Ingeborg Colbjørnsdatter Rust (Rust is the name of the farm)

Gol is in the Hallingdal valley.

Stengrin Hanson Rust was born December 3, 1836, in Gol Parish, Hallingdal, Norway, died at his home St. Ansgar, Iowa, February 8, 1914 age 74 years, 2 months and 4 days. Stengrin Hanson Rust was baptized December 26, 1839 and in the Spring of 1852 immigrated with his parents to this country, came to St. Ansgar in June, 1853, and shortly thereafter was confirmed by Rev. Clausen, pastor of the Norwegian Lutheran Church here, April 6, 1856, and has been a continuous member of the church ever since.

On September 29, 1868, he was united in marriage to Miss Gumbjor K. Rauk, daughter of K. O. Rauk, at which time they moved to the home on the farm 5 miles north of St. Ansgar where they resided continuously until the fall of 1903 when they moved to their home in St. Ansgar and where they have made their home since. There was born to this union 12 children, 9 of whom are living.

In Mr. Hanson's death St. Ansgar loses one of her most honorable citizens and the family a kind and affectionate husband and father.

The funeral which was held Thursday was largely attended. The services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. Waldeland and the remains were laid to rest in the N.L. Cemetery.

All of the children except Mrs. Viste who lives at Claresholm, Canada, were present at the funeral. The children are; Mrs. James L. Cerney, Clarksville, Iowa, Mrs. Wm. L. Asher, Clarksville, Iowa; Mrs. Henry Viste, Claresholm, Alberta; Mrs. Otto Blakestad, Otranto, Iowa; Mrs. Hans Borsheim, Charles City, Iowa; Mrs. Herman Halvorson, Thief River Falls, Minn.; and Carl Henry, Louis, Oscar and Cora Annette who at the present time are living at home.
