RITES TO BE TUESDAY FOR OSAGE RESIDENT

Osage – Funeral rites will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Osage Baptist church for Mrs. Jesse Carter, 57, who died at her home on West Main Street Saturday evening following a major operation two years ago.

Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery, in charge of the Rev. Wayne Christiansen.

Surviving is her husband, a son by a former marriage, a son, Frank Wallace, of Charles City, two daughters; Mrs. Arnold Taylor and Ruby, at home; a son, Lennie Carter, in the Navy, now at home awaiting discharge. There are five sisters and four brothers.

Blanche (Jeffries) Carter was born January 17, 1889 in Osage, the daughter of George Jeffries Sr. and Evvie Elizabeth (Wiseman) Jeffries.

Her first husband was Albert John Wallace 1887-1972, the son of Clark and Lillian (Aldrich) Wallace.

Her second husband was Jesse George Carter whom she married on June 19, 1913, according to his obit.

MRS. JESSIE CARTER
DIES AT OSAGE HOME

Mrs. Jesse Carter died on September 29, 1945, at the home of Mrs. George Carter. She had been in poor health for the past two and one-half years, following a major operation.

Blanche Jessie Jeffries was born January 17, 1889, in Rock township, Mitchell County, Iowa, the third child of Evie Wiseman and George Jeffries. On June 19, 1913, she was married to Jesse Carter at Austin, Minnesota. Their married life was spent of farms at Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, and Osage, Iowa. In 1942 they moved into Osage.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Lennie, of the U.S. Navy; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Taylor and Ruby; a son, but a former marriage, Frank Wallace; four brothers: Frank and Lloyd of Osage, Pete of Nora Springs, and George of California; five sisters, Mrs. Lee Lindley of St. Ansgar. Mrs. Bill Sweasy of Peoria, Illinois, Mrs. Julius Seibert, and Mrs. Fay Langsdale, both of Rock Island, Illinois, and Mrs. Grace Wolf of Tujunga, California.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. R. Benedict, pastor of the Baptist church in Charles City, officiating. Burial was in the Osage City Cemtery.
