NICOLAS MILLER DIES AT OSAGE; RITES WEDNESDAY

Osage – Nicholas Miller, 97, died Monday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home with burial in St. Ansgar Cemetery.

Born in Schlesweig-Holstein, Germany, he came here as a youth and had lived the rest of his life in Mitchell County.

The last 15 years he had lived with the Henry Gaarders in Osage. Nieces and nephews survive him.

He was the son of Johannes “John” P. Miller and Martha (Shot or Schlut) Miller. According to the 1900 US Census he was born August 1864. Mrs. Henry Gaarder (Cordelia Hansen’s) mother Mary Kathryn (Miller) Hansen was Nick Millers sister.
