FUNERAL HELD SUNDAY FOR AGED OSAGE WOMANOsage – Funeral services for Mrs. George Beckner, 82, were held at the Champion funeral home Sunday. The Rev. Stiles Lessley officiated and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
As a young woman she spent many years teaching school in Iowa and South Dakota.
In 1893 she was married to George Beckner and lived on a farm in the Riceville community. Later they moved to a farm near Mitchell. In 1919 they retired from the farm and moved to San Diego, California, but returned to Mitchell in 1935 where Mr. Beckner died in August 1935
Surviving are 2 children, Dean and Mrs. Roland Ham of Mitchell, and 5 grandchildren.
