Cheryl Olive (Kapka) Reicks 1946-2010

Cheryl Reicks, age 64, of Cresco, Iowa, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at Regional Health Services Hospital in Cresco.

Burial was on Monday, July 19, 2010, in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Riceville, Iowa.

Cheryl Olive Reicks was born on January 7, 1946 at Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth E. and Hazel I. (Womack) Kapka. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville. She attended school in Riceville and graduated with the class of 1964.

On May 1, 1965, Cheryl was united in marriage to Donald Reicks at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cresco. Following their marriage they lived in Rochester and Wilmar, Minnesota and Mason City, Northwood and Thompson, Iowa, where she was a bookkeeper for different grocery stores. She liked to read and knit. She also enjoyed camping, playing cards on the computer an dbaking. She espeically loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite companion, other than Don, was Sammy Joe, their pet dog. She loved to feed him whatever was on her plate and would play everyday after work. They were just about inseparable.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Donald; one daughter, Becky (Dennis) Colby of Cresco; one son, Rand (Maria) Reicks of Cresco; five grandchildren: Tone, Joe, Casey, Lucas and Katelyn; three step-grandchildren: Tim, Katy and Kristina; six step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jeanine Enderson of Cresco.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Lois Engelhardt.
