Emma (Auringer) Dargan 1887-1957

MRS. JAMES DARGAN DIES IN HOSPITAL IN IOWA CITY

Riceville – Mrs. James Dargan, 70 died Sunday night at the University Hospital in Iowa City, where she had been taken Sunday morning. She was suffering with an intestinal obstruction and died before surgery could be performed.

Mrs. Dargan was born Emma Auringer, the daughter of Daniel and Maria Auringer. She taught rural schools for many years.

Surviving are her husband, four sons; James Jr., at home; Bernard, Texas; Francis, Cedar Falls; Paul, Seattle, Wash.; and four daughters, Mrs. George (Florence) Badker, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Mrs. Clark (Mary) Zoaklander, and Mrs. Adrian (Agnes) Kleckner, both of Osage; and Mrs. Leo (Rosemary) Kinter, Des Moines; 33 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother, Floyd Auringer, Riceveille; and seven sisters, Mrs. Stella Flack and Ella Auringer, Osage; Mrs. Albert Fuhrman, Iowa Falls; Mrs. Zena Wildman, and Mrs. Ted Zilk, both of Monticello; Mrs. Anna Coder, Oregon City, Ore.; and Mrs. Roy Hennings, Sandwich, Ill.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Riceville Funeral Home.
