Sarah (Berg) Torgerson 1864-1950

Osage – Funeral rites will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Champion Funeral home and at 1:30 at the Osage Lutheran church for Mrs .Ole O. Torgerson 85, burial in Osage Cemetery.
She died Monday at her home near Osage, having been bedridden the last year.

She was born January 24, 1864, to Ole and Carrie Berg, as Sarah Berg, at Lyle, Minnesota. There she spent her girlhood and was married to Ole Torgerson in 1888, at Lyle.

They lived the first eight years there, then to Bolan, Iowa, coming to near Osage in 1933.

She leaves seven children; Tom, at home; Mrs. Martin Lorenzen, St. Ansgar; Mrs. Lloyd Durben, Topeka, Kansas; Mrs. Herman Mengeling, Neilville, Wisconsin; Edith, at home; Mrs A. M. Swensen, Council Bluffs; and Mrs. John Concannon, Hollandale, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a sister; Mrs. Mathilda Anderson, Belgrade, Minnesota.

Preceding her in death were husband; a son, Lester, killed in World War II and two sisters; Mrs. Helen Martin and Mrs. Annie Thovsin.
