Mrs. Andrew Kirgus
Funeral service for Mrs. Matilda Jane Kirgus, who died in Waterloo Tuesday afternoon, has been tentatively set for Thursday afternoon in the Champion Funeral home at Osage, IA.

Mrs. Kirgus, who lived in Osage about 30 years, died at 2:30 Tuesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Noss, eighth street east, where she had been living in recent years.
Ill of dropsy and heart trouble since last October, Mrs Kirgus had been bedfast only a few days and died soon after a heart attack.

Born Sept 16, 1847, at Cardington, OH, she moved to Toledo, IA with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cap Aldrich, when she was 6 years old.
She was first married in 1864 to James Perry, who died the following year while serving in the Union army in the Civil war. Later she was married to Sam Fisher. They were divorced. She was married May 30, 1876, to Andrew Kirgus, who died at Osage, Oct 2, 1929.
At Osage, Mrs Kirgus was an active member of the Baptist Church.

Eleven children survive; Lew, Frank and Hugh Fisher and Mrs. Stella McNames, all of Fort Dodge, IA; William Kirgus and Mrs. Elsie Jeffries, both of Osage; Charles Kirgus, Milan, MN; Arthur Kirgus, Platteville, WI; Mrs. Mary Howard, Cuba City, WI; Mrs. Nellie Smalley, Austin, MN; and Mrs. Noss.
Two other children, Bernard and Hattie Kirgus, are dead.
The body was taken to Osage.
