BUSINESSMAN IN MITCHELL DIES
FUNERAL FOR FRED D. CADY, 71, TO BE CONDUCTED WEDNESDAYMitchell – Fred D. Cady, 71, prominent businessman, died at his home at Mitchell early Sunday following a year’s illness. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Cady, was born near Mitchell and spent his entire life in and around Mitchell.
Mr. Cady owned and operated a lumber and coal business here for 39 years. He was active in civic affairs, having held various offices in the town. He was married June 3, 1897 to Flora Vanderpoel. Two children were born, a son, Dean Cady of Long Beach, California, who preceded his father in death about six months ago.
Surviving are his wife and a daughter, Mrs. E. E. Lampman of Minneapolis, also three grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Community church, with H. T. Risse officiating and burial will take place in Oak Grove cemetery.

Frederick Cady was born April 26, 1866, the son of Jerry Cady and Jane (West) Cady. He married Flora Vanderpoel the daughter of Clarence Vanderpoel and Emily (Squire) Vanderpoel.
