PIONEER OSAGE FARMER DIES
SIMPSON, 84, RESIDED ON SAME PLACE FOR PAST 60 YEARS.

Osage – Melbert Simpson, 84, died early Thursday at the home of his son, Ray Simpson. He suffered a stroke Tuesday and had been seriously ill since then.

Born January 3, 1853, at Postville, he came to a farm in Lincoln township 60 years ago and spent his entire life since then on that place. He was married to Grace Peck.

Children surviving are Lloyd of Des Moines; Ray and Bert and Vern of Osage.
