Former Mitchell
County Girl Dies
In Montana Apr. 6

(The following clipping concerning the death of a former Mitchell County girl is sent us by Mrs. E. B. Hanson, of Seattle, Wash. Deceased was Miss Ellen Eddy when she attended and was graduated from the old Cedar Valley Seminary, and when she taught in the schools of Mitchell and Worth Counties. She was a sister-in-law to Mrs. I. Swanson, Osage.)

Asarokee, Montana: Following an illness of two and a half months owing to a gall bladder condition, Mrs. Ellen Marie Peterson, 61, died at a Billings hospital at 8:35 p. m. Monday, April 6. She had been in the hospital for three weeks.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Eddy, she was born August 25, 1874, in Worth County, Iowa, where she grew up and was married to Axel M. Peterson on November 14, 1900. They came to Montana, settling at Absarokee in 1902.

Mrs. Peterson was active in the affairs of the local Congregational Church, the Daughters of the G. A. R., and the Order of Eastern Star.

Besides the widower she is survived by two sons, Stanley H. Peterson and Arnold K. Peterson, both of Absarokee; two sisters, Miss Josie Eddy and Mrs. Hilda Parsons, both of Absaroka; and three brothers, Henry and Earl Eddy of Absarokee, and Karl of Tacoma, Washington. There is also one granddaughter.
