Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, December 19, 1984, at United Methodist Church, St. Ansgar, for Agnes S. Hobbs, 86, a retired janitor in the St. Ansgar School District, who died Sunday, December 16, at a St. Ansgar nursing home.
Rev. Loyd Johnson will officiate, and burial will be in St. Ansgar Cemetery. Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hobbs was born on March 10, 1898 in South Dakota, to Michael and Mary Hansen Seffinga.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Mary) Wolff and Ruth Wolff, both of St. Ansgar; one son, Merle, St. Ansgar; ten grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ida Anderson, Osage; Blanche Block, Austin, Minnesota, Gertrude Ruby, of Radison, Wisconsin, and one brother, Robert Seffinga, Radison, Wisconsin.

#2:Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 19, 1984, at the United Methodist Church in St. Ansgar for Agnes A. Hobbs of St. Ansgar. Rev. Loyd Johnson officiated at the service with burial in the St. Ansgar Cemetery, St. Ansgar. She died on Sunday, December 16, 1984.
Agnes A. Hobbs was born in Viborg, South Dakota, on March 10, 1898, the daughter of Michael and Mary Seffinga. At an early age she moved with her family to Marshalltown and later to a farm near Manly.
She was united in marriage to LeRoy Hobbs on July 16, 1916. They lived most of their married life on farms in Mitchell County, moving to St. Ansgar in 1934.
She lived at Maple Manor for years before entering the Good Samaritan Center in 1978.
Survivors include three children, Merle, Mary and Ruth all of St. Ansgar; three sisters: Blanche of Austin, Ida of Osage and Gertrude of Radisson, Wisconsin; one brother, Robert of Radisson, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy in 1958; one son Hilmer who was killed in the service; her parents; three brothers; one sister and one great-grandson.
