Anna Mary (nee Winkels) Smith 1870-1964

ANNA MARY SMITH

Osage – Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the McIntire Methodist church for Mrs. Anna Mary Smith, 94. She died Sunday evening at the Cedar Valley Hospital, Charles City. A former McIntire resident, she had lived at the Welcome Haven Rest Home, Charles City, since 1957.

She was married in September 1890 to Fred Smith. They farmed near McIntire and retired to McIntire IN 1920. He died in 1943.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. A. E. Seaquist, Clarion; Mrs. R. A. Lockie and Mrs. J. T. Vaughn, both of McIntire; a son, Walker F. Smith, Cedar Rapids; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Burial will be in the Wayne Cemetery, McIntire. The Martz Funeral Leroy, is in charge of the arrangements.

Anna Mary Winkels was born February 14, 1870, the daughter of John Adam Winkels and Mary Berlinger. She married Fred Smith 1864-1943, the son of Robert Smith and Katherine Walker.
