HELD THURSDAY
AT FUNERAL HOME

OSAGE, IOWA – Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Shelledy Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Ben Hoyt, a former pastor of the Little Cedar church, assisted by the Rev. Glen Hartong, pastor of the Osage Methodist church, for William Cooper, 72, who died at his home here after being in poor health the past four years.

Born near Bloomington, Illinois, November 6, 1869, he came to Mitchell county at the age of 16. On March 19, 1897, he was married to Mary Elizabeth Duryea. They lived on a farm near Little Cedar until 1908 when they moved to a farm near New Haven. In 1910 they purchased a farm in Burr Oak township where they lived until two and a half years ago when they moved to Osage.

Surviving are his widow and five children: Stanley and Warren at home; Frank of Little Cedar; Howard and Mrs. Martin North of Osage; three sisters; Mrs. Mary Corey of Longmount, Colorado; Mrs. Anna Hill of Appleton, Minnesota; Grace Cooper of Batavia, N.Y.; two brothers, George of Portland, Oregon; and Louis of Auburn, Indiana.

Burial was in the Osage City Cemetery.
