Helene Ida Emilie (nee Tesch) Wietgrefe – June 9, 1890 – December 8, 1945
LAST RITES HELD FOR NORA SPRINGS WOMAN
Nora Springs – Funeral services were held Tuesday in St. Luke’s American Lutheran church for Mrs. Ed Wietgrefe, 55, who died in Mercy hospital, Mason City, Saturday. Mrs. Wietgrefe became seriously ill Wednesday, last week, and succumbed after only a brief illness.
The pastor of the church, the Rev. W. G. Pfeffer, conducted the rites, and burial was in Park Cemetery, east of Nora Springs. The Sheckler Funeral home was in charge.
Mrs. Wietgrefe, nee Helene Ida Emilie Tesch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Tesch, was born June 9, 1890, at St. Ansgar. She was baptized June 29, 1890, by the Rev. G Landgrebe in St. Peter’s Lutheran churc at St. Ansgar; and was confirmed May 15, 1904 at Immanuel Lutheran church at St. Ansgar at which time she was received into communicant membership in the Lutheran church.
She lived in the vicinity o St. Ansgar until October 29, 1925, when she was married to Edward Wietgrefe of Nora Springs. They were married at Mason City by the Rev. O. Mall. The couple resided at Boyd for 8 years, moving to Nora Springs in 1933. They have lived here for the past 12 years.
Surviving are her husband, Edward Wietgrefe, Nora Springs; her fther, William Tesch, St. Ansgar; and 4 sisters; Mrs. Redeker, Mason City; Mrs Gerbert Gutman, St. Ansgar; Mrs. John Hinricks of Rockwell; and Mrs Arthur Froehlich of Hewitt, Minnesota..
