Funeral rites are to be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home, for a longtime resident, Mrs. August Schmarzo, Sr, 89, who died Tuesday at her home in Osage; having been in ill health for some time.

She was born on October 12, 1859, in Germany, coming to American with her parents at the age of eight; residing first in Wisconsin, and in 1877 was married to August Schmarzo. The couple established first home near Little Cedar, where they lived until 30 years ago, when they retired to Osage. She had been in ill health for a number of years.

She leaves four sons: Ernest, August Jr., and Max, all of Osage, and Bill, Detroit. Michigan; four daughters: Mrs. Amanda Willis, Mrs. Earl Lewis, and Mrs, and Mrs. Amelia Grover, all Osage, and Mrs. Nick Lorensen, St. Ansgar; four grandchildren; two sisters; and two brothers.

She was preceded by her husband, two daughters, one sister, and a brother.
